2022 Porsche Cayenne vs 2021 Porsche Cayenne

Serving Milwaukee, WI

Sophistication and athleticism blend spectacularly in the Porsche Cayenne. This midsize SUV made waves in 2019 when its third generation was introduced. At that time, the Cayenne displayed prominent updates from nose to tail, and these updates have been fine-tuned in more recent years. Now that you are interested in driving home in a new Cayenne soon, you should be aware of Porsche’s updates to the 2022 model year. What should you know about the differences between the 2021 and 2022 Cayenne?

Performance

The Cayenne’s superior performance capabilities hold steady for the 2022 model year. Each of the six trim levels has a unique powertrain. The Cayenne Base pulls 335 horsepower from its turbo 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine. The Cayenne S raises the bar with its turbo 2.9-liter, V6, 434-horsepower engine. In the GTS, a turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine delivers 453 horsepower. An enhanced version of this engine that produces 541 horsepower is in the Cayenne Turbo. Two-hybrid powertrains are also offered. The Cayenne E-Hybrid draws 455 total horsepower from its turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine. The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid receives 670 horsepower from its turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine.

Appearance

The impressive, recognizable style of the Cayenne is also unchanged. All trims for both model years display confidence through their sloped hood and almost flat roofline. The nose shows a rounded fascia that is segmented into three prominent parts. Above this fascia, you will find teardrop-shaped headlights that are beautifully defined. All trims have a power liftgate or better and 19-inch wheels or more extensive. Higher trims have a panoramic sunroof and an adaptive rear spoiler.

Features

The most significant difference that you will find between the 2021 Cayenne and its 2022 counterpart is a striking update to the smart device integration technology. For both years, the Cayenne Base comes with four USB-C ports, ambient lighting, partial leather upholstery, a dual-zone climate system, a 12.4-inch touch display screen, and a navigation system. For both years, more advanced Cayenne trims have sport seats, full leather upholstery, a more advanced sound system, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, lane-keep assist, and more.
